Adam set up Dianthus Medical in 1999. He is an experienced medical writer and statistician, has a PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Cambridge and an MSc in medical statistics from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
I have just returned from a trip to the dentist, where I was reminded how important the medical writer’s craft is in all branches of healthcare. Medical writers are skilled in making sure that text is clear and unambiguous, and if my dentist’s practice had had the benefit of a medical writer, their health questionnaire might have looked different.
As it was, I had to fill in a form which asked “Do you suffer from any of the following:”, one of which was “Diabetes or anyone in your family”.
I’m happy to say that I resisted the obvious temptation to write “mother in law”.
